A downloadable game to be released

Plantaplont is a gardening-themed RPG about raising and fighting creatures originally started for the Great Spring Game Jam: 2021.

Over the course of the jam the focus shifted away from making a playable game within the 20 days time limit to planning a full release with a more realistic development time.

We want to update this page with new information every 3 weeks and for the next milestone we'd like to have a functioning battle system and a little gameplay trailer to show.

In the world of this game, monsters called Plantaplont are grown from flower pots by combining different kinds of seeds and soil. Once the creature has grown big enough it can be harvested to become a useful companion. Up to four Plantaplonts can be carried around at the same time to fight against wild Plantaplonts or other gardeners' teams.

Each Plantaplont has a combination of two types based on the seed and soil you choose for growing it.

Battles will be turn-based 1-on-1 with the option to switch monsters and use items. By picking the most fitting type of Plantaplont in battle you can get an advantage against your opponent.

After getting enough experience in battle your monsters will level-up and evolve into much stronger Plantaplont, while also gaining new attacks and abilities!

At the beginning of the game you can choose between four unique gardeners to play as: Essie, Anne, Lawrence and Firat.

After starting your journey you will travel the world, exploring different areas, fighting other gardeners, meeting new friends and revealing the secret of the mysterious unknown plant that you found growing in the old shack behind your house.

The game is planned to be released for Windows, Linux and Android, versions for other platforms like Mac or iOS may be following in the future.

The art is awesome, and the concept sounds really cool.

Just my preference, but I would love if the "growing" aspect was kept central to the game. Maybe it could also be used to power-up/evolve your creatures with items you collect in the world.

The art looks FANTASTIC! Can't wait to play the game :)
